If your dog is between two sizes, at the top end of a size range or has a very thick coat, choose the next size up.

It happens when the straps are too loose or the front ring sits too low. Adjust the harness so that the ring stays in the middle of the chest, level with the breastbone, and keep the lead a little shorter for the first few days: dogs get used to it quickly.

If you prefer, for relaxed walks you can clip the lead to the D-ring on the back and only use the front one when you need control.
